Logs are naturally stylish and healthy
All the logs we use are made from Finnish timber harvested from sustainably managed forests. Our priority is naturalness, quality and sustainability, which is reflected in every log we deliver. We use 100% Finnish pine or spruce.
Our log models are the right solution for your modern log home. Our log structures and corner solutions have been developed to be technically functional and stylish to meet today's requirements. Our woodworking technology and log building know-how are among the best in the country. We can proudly say that with over 50 years of experience.
Naturally healthy
A log house breathes naturally, balances indoor humidity and provides a fresh, allergy-friendly living environment. It is a proven healthy choice.
The natural insulating properties of timber keep the house warm in winter and pleasantly cool in summer without the need for extra technology.
The latest log technology
Ollikainen's log models are designed to meet the requirements of modern construction. Carefully planned corner solutions, cutting-edge workmanship and decades of experience ensure that each log house is technically functional and visually impressive.
An ecological and responsible choice
Logs are 100% natural materials that also act as insulation. No plastics or synthetic insulation are required. Our manufacturing process uses little energy and the log house sequesters more carbon than the construction of it produces. Our modern production minimises waste and makes every log a sustainable choice.
A log house lasts from generation to generation
We use only selected, close-grained Finnish timber. The result of a long development process, our double-jointed lock profile ensures a tight, energy-efficient and torsion-resistant wall strucutre. The result is a log house that looks good and performs well for decades to come.
Laminated timber
Laminated timber is made from several carefully glued layers of wood, with the heartwood placed on the outer surfaces, providing excellent dimensional stability, a virtually crack-free surface and the natural breathability of the wood.
Our laminated logs use low-emission, M1-rated PUR glue, designed for healthy indoor air. The structure breathes naturally and the log will retain its shape for decades, supporting fresh and comfortable indoor air.
Ollikainen's own design profile finishes the look in a stylish and timeless way – whether it's a modern detached house or a public building.
Non-settling laminated timber
Non-settling laminated timber offers modern log construction a stable and dimensionally accurate frame that will not buckle or sag like traditional logs. The construction is based on cross-laminated logs(CLL), which ensures exceptional dimensional stability and structural integrity without the need for constant adjustment.
This provides smoother construction, a more finished final result and a long service life without compromise.
But the traditional beauty of a log house will not disappear. The solid timber surface creates an authentic atmosphere, and the PUR (polyurethane glue) glued construction ensures a healthy, breathable and comfortable indoor climate. The log will retain its shape and properties for decades to come.

Corner solutions
The corner solutions of a log house have a significant impact on the appearance of the building as a whole. By choosing the right corner type, you can emphasise either traditional or modern architecture.
If you appreciate the traditional log house style, a saddle-notch corner or saddle-notch corner with a covering board is an excellent choice, recognisable and cosy.
If you're looking for a sleek and contemporary look, the city corner (also known as the mitre corner or zero corner) offers a modern and linear finish, perfect for urban or minimalist architecture.
We are guaranteed to have a corner solution that's just right for your style. Ask us for more information and let's design your log home together.
