Interior Design Elements

  • Common Areas

    Log walls, paneled ceilings, and trim highlight the natural surface and tone of the logs. The color options are designed to accentuate Nordic light and the atmosphere of a log home.

    High-quality hardwood flooring or durable vinyl flooring is used in dry areas. The look of the living areas is completed by a black Smidson Vigo fireplace with a black steel chimney.

  • Kitchen and Built-in Cabinets

    The kitchen and built-in cabinetry will be furnished with Noblessa cabinetry. Black cabinetry will be used in the kitchen and entryway, balanced by the lighter-colored surfaces in the other rooms.

  • Bathroom and Sauna

    Large tiles are used in wet areas, while smaller tiles are used on the floors of washrooms for practicality and safety. IDO Seven D floor-mounted toilet seats are used in the restrooms.

    The saunas feature heat-treated pine, seamless panel surfaces, and a Harvia Cilindro stove. A clear glass wall adds a sense of space and lightness to the room.

  • Windows and Doors

    The black windows and exterior doors of Skaala highlight the building's architecture. Inside, black interior doors, glass doors, and minimalist moldings complete the look.

We thought about what it feels like to stand on the summit of a fell, to walk through a forest tinged with fall colors, or to experience a winter day when snow softens the landscape and muffles all sound around you.
